Description

All the information you need to get a licence or certificate in dry plastering.

You must have a licence before you do any residential building work in NSW, including dry plastering, that is valued at more than $5000 (incl GST) in labour and materials.

Dry plastering is the internal installation of rigid building sheeting or boards, which are made of gypsum plaster set between and bonded to outer covers of cardboard.

Dry plastering includes installing fibrous plaster sheeting or boards or fibrous cement sheeting or boards, cornices, and false and suspended ceilings (not including work that provides structural support).

It does not include any external cladding work, which is part of the carpentry and joinery trade work.

To learn more about what is considered dry plastering, see the definition in schedule 4 of the Home Building Regulation 2014.
