Description

Medical gas means a substance used for medical purposes that is prescribed by the regulations as a medical gas.

Scope

On 19 June 2020, the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Amendment (Medical Gas Work) Regulation 2020 was published on the NSW Legislation website and prescribes the following as medical gases.

Oxygen
Nitrous oxide
Helium
Nitrogen
Cardon dioxide
Medical air
Surgical tool gas
Common mixtures of the gases referred to above
Waste anaesthetic gas
Air at a negative pressure (commonly known as suctioning)
