Description

Information about a licence or certificate in wet plastering.

You must have a licence before you do any residential building work in NSW, including wet plastering, valued at more than $5000 (incl GST) in labour and materials.

Scope

Wet plastering means applying a mixture of lime, cement or gypsum plaster and/or sand and water (or other materials to get a similar result) to cover internal or external walls and ceilings.

Wet plaster is applied when it is wet/plastic, generally using a trowel, and then dries and hardens.

Wet plastering is also commonly called solid plastering. It can be applied in lots of situations including to brick, stone and concrete surfaces or to existing sheet/board linings.

To learn more about what is considered wet plastering, see the definition in schedule 4 of the Home Building Regulation 2014.
