December 2023 Library Update

The myBIG library is constantly growing with new content.

From Australian Standards to legislation, codes of practice to technical specifications, and everything in between, myBIG holds the most current Building and Construction industry resources.

These are the new items recently added, or updated, in myBIG for December 2023.


Australian Standards

AS 3958:2023 Installation of ceramic and stone tiles

AS 3958:2023 provides instructions on the preparation of the background and the bonded fixing and grouting of floor and wall tiles including mosaic tiles and panels.

 

Australian Building Codes Board

Consolidated Performance Requirements

Provides a compilation of all NCC Performance Requirements and the supporting General Requirements.

Sound transmission and insulation in buildings

Energy

A comprehensive guide to BASIX

The purpose of this guide is to provide an overview of how the BASIX engine works to estimate energy and water consumption in houses and apartments, and how these outputs can be used to inform design decisions.

NatHERS 2022: Whole of Home Overview

The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme, or NatHERS, is being expanded to include Whole of Home assessments and ratings to support the proposed National Construction Code energy efficiency requirements for residential buildings in 2022; the changes will help households improve a home's energy efficiency and reduce energy use, which provides a range of benefits including lower energy bills, improved comfort and health for occupants, and reduced carbon emissions.

Design Guidance For Flood Resilient Homes

Queensland homeowners who experienced damage to their residential property as a result of flooding in 2021–22 can now register their interest for the $741 million Resilient Homes Fund.

Industry Guidance For Flood Resilient Homes

This Industry Guidance for Flood Resilient Homes provides information about improving the flood resilience of new and existing Queensland homes.

Resilient Homes Fund Contractor Quote Tool Guidelines

The RHF Contractor Quoting tool was created to provide a standardised method of quoting for Industry Builders participating in the Resilient Homes Fund (RHF). (Includes Contractor Quoting tool download).
