This guide is intended for the people whose work is directly affected by the Building Act 2016 (TAS).

These regulations may be cited as the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022. (TAS legislation.)

Approved by the Secretary of the Department of Customer Service (the Secretary), under clause 9(1)(c) of the Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2021.

The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 and Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2021 (the DBP legislation) were established to raise the standards of building design and building work.

These are Guidelines issued by the Secretary of the Department of Customer Service (the Secretary), under Schedule 3 of the Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2021.

Developed for builders and building owners to use as a convenient reference to the minimum technical standards and quality of work; provides references to relevant areas of legislation and gives guidance on areas of building standards that are not covered by legislation.

This Certifier Practice Standard is prepared by the Commissioner for Fair Trading under section 14 of the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (B&DC Act); Section 14 provides that a registered certifier’s conditions of registration may require the certifier to carry out certification work in accordance with specified standards or methodologies prepared by the Commissioner.

This Guide is intended to supplement to the "Criteria for the Passive House, EnerPHit and PHI Low Energy Building Standards" ("Criteria") published by the Passive House Institute and posted online; it explains the Criteria's require-ments given here in a brief and precise manner.
